WBB13: Oat Muffins

It is a well known fact that a diet with oats has its health benefits due to its high fiber and Vitamin B1 content significantly reducing diseases due to cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.

We all know its good but oats can be rather bland by itself and be a real put off if it were to be taken daily. However, being masked in another form all together it actually can be a yummy treat and double up as a healthy alternative.

For the 13th Weekend Breakfast Blogging event themed oats I made a batch of oatmeal raisin muffins from a recipe I gathered from the Cooks.com website. Although the recipe didn't call for any variation, I admit I got a little excited and decided to coat it with melted dark chocolate and chopped nuts. I felt that there was no harm in having a slightly more interesting twist to the other muffins since it was supposed to be for a weekend breakfast. Weekends are meant to indulge, ain't it?? The muffins were yummy. Looking forward to have more.
