What do you do when you come back all forlorn from a day at work and get stuck in the floods...and all you wanna do is eat but there's nothing available on the dinner table
Quick answer...Make pasta....Took me about 20 mins to get the whole thing done..15 mins of cooking and 5 mins of prepraration...and another 10-15 mins of indulgence...A simple thing but yet soo yummy...
Have a nice weekend peeps
A Sunday dinner
Last Sunday we had a small meet up with our neighbors cum family friend over dinner and since we've dined once at this Sri Petaling eatery and found the food quite decent we decided to try it out again.
The whole of Sri Petaling was well jam packed on Sunday night as if free food was going out but we managed to get a parking spot anyway.
Here's the address of the place in case you'd like to know. Its facing the Store Supermarket in Sri Petaling and is beside some pet shop where you can go drool on the cute puppies after a heartening dinner.
My neighbours seemed to have a liking towards a more spicier spread hence the selection they chose.
Curried tilapia with long beans and okra. The fish was fresh, soft and succulent and the curry was not spicy but had the right proportions of spice and creaminess. Thumbs up.

Tofu was well quite a generic pick but hey it was good so no harm done there.
Prawn sambal was just nice.. Definitely wasn't spicy but a little on the sweetish side. I guess they got the proportions right cause I actually liked it.

WBB13: Oat Muffins

It is a well known fact that a diet with oats has its health benefits due to its high fiber and Vitamin B1 content significantly reducing diseases due to cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
We all know its good but oats can be rather bland by itself and be a real put off if it were to be taken daily. However, being masked in another form all together it actually can be a yummy treat and double up as a healthy alternative.

For the 13th Weekend Breakfast Blogging event themed oats I made a batch of oatmeal raisin muffins from a recipe I gathered from the Cooks.com website. Although the recipe didn't call for any variation, I admit I got a little excited and decided to coat it with melted dark chocolate and chopped nuts. I felt that there was no harm in having a slightly more interesting twist to the other muffins since it was supposed to be for a weekend breakfast. Weekends are meant to indulge, ain't it?? The muffins were yummy. Looking forward to have more.
Cheras Thai Fair
I know its been a long time but I have been since busy with my life pursuits and its a releive that the Bloggers Buff 2007 went on successfully.
Two weeks back I noticed a Thai Fair going on at the carpark of the Cheras Market Centre as I was doing my groceries. Having tried the food once during the fair at South City Plaze, I wanted to try it again but was quite full after lunch.
The food spread was the normal one at all Thai Fairs, including the mango and glutinous rice dessert, the tomyam spread and tit bits such as thai spring rolls and crabcakes.

The tomyam didnt really appease me as I prefer my tom yam soup to have more body. This one has ample sourness but was too thin for my liking. The consistency preference changes from one to another definitely.
The otak-otak we tried was well ok...Nothing to shout about I felt... It had enough creaminess of the santan but was perhaps a little fishy for my taste. I wanted to sample out more stuff but had totally no space to.
If you guys do want to pay a visit to the Thai Fair which sells other clothes and accesories on top of the food.. drive down to Cheras Market Centre which houses the Giant Hypermarket in Taman Connaught, Cheras. Its open till end of this week.
